About this experience
Not far from Bosanski Petrovac, in the village of Vrtoče, is the “Čardaklije” farm. The idea of building a household was initiated by brothers Zoran and Zdravko Radošević. “Čardaklije” is an old rural household, where people live and work the way Radošević’s ancestors lived and worked 150 years ago. The Radoševići, whose surname originates from the 14th century, are anciently from Lika below the Velebit.
The story says that a blind old man on a blind horse led them under the southern slopes of Grmeč, up to the place where the Skakavac stream falls down the cliff and where he commanded them: “Stop here, here we will build a house.” In this location, the Radoševićs spent almost an entire century, and then they moved all over the foot of the mountain, and some even across the mountain. Embark on a horseback riding adventure through the picturesque countryside, exploring the scenic trails surrounding the farm.
Ride to the nearby Bjelaj medieval castle, steeped in history and offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Additional Information
The village is located 36 kilometers from the city of Bihać and 20 kilometers from the town of Bosanski Petrovac, in an isolated rural place surrounded by the pine tree forest.
The price includes one meal (usually roast lamb), one drink and a dedicated tour coordinator.
We can welcome you at Zagreb Airport, arrange transport to your accommodation, and return to the airport.
If required, we can transport you from your accommodation to Čardaklije and return you to accommodation.
For this experience, we recommend staying in the very farm Čardaklije. This accommodation’s capacity is 13 persons. If your group is bigger, we can organize accommodation in the nearby village resort Hajdučka česma.
