About this experience
Participants will simulate survival after a plane crash, working together to overcome challenges, find resources, and ultimately make their way to civilization, specifically Štrbački buk. The total duration of this experience is 4-5 hours.
Location
Start at a clearing on the hill next to Mount Ljutoč. It is located in an isolated natural environment, completely surrounded by forest, with no visible human structures. The clearing is 1 km from your accommodation at Resort Una Park and can be accessed via a hiking trail.
Teams will continue along the “Herb Trail” towards Štrbački buk, covering a total distance of approximately 5 km.
The activity concludes at the scenic Štrbački buk, from where a vehicle will return your team back to the accommodation at Resort Una Park.
Activities
Participants gather in the restaurant of Resort Una Park. They are divided into teams of 4. Instructors introduce them to the basics of safety and behavior in nature.
Participants hike from the accommodation to the “crash site” of the airplane. The crash site is near a mountain stream and a resting spot in the forest, on the hike trail called “Medicinal herb path”.
Instructors explain the scenario: “The plane has crashed. You must find your way back to civilization (Štrbački buk).”
Teams locate basic resources (paper maps, compasses, etc.).
Teams find checkpoints with instructors who will confirm the accuracy of their direction.
Teams then use maps and compasses to determine the direction towards the checkpoints.
Checkpoint 1: Abandoned hunting cabin in the tree
With instructors’ guidance, teams navigate this checkpoint to obtain food (protein bars) and water.
Instructors award points to teams that were the fastest in finding the checkpoint and obtaining resources.
Checkpoint 2: Remains of the medieval Klišević tower.
Teams must build a temporary shelter using natural materials and limited resources found in the vicinity of the tower.
Instructors assess the stability, safety, and comfort of the shelter and award points.
Check Point 3: Štrbački Buk.
Teams receive the final instruction indicating the location of Štrbački Buk.
On the way, teams encounter various obstacles (navigating and descending through a forest path).
Instructors positioned at different points provide additional tasks and guidance on recognizing tracks of local large wildlife (wild boar, bear, wolf…) to ensure safety in nature.
Participants may be given additional free time to explore one of the main attraction of the Una National Park – Štrbački Buk before returning to the hotel.
Additional points are awarded to teams that independently find certificates of completion (and a little surprise!) while exploring the main attraction of the Una National Park – Štrbački Buk.
Teams gather at the picnic area above the Štrbački buk waterfalls.
The organizers announce the team that won the most number of points while solving the tasks.
After we wrap up the day full of adventure, our bus will return the participants back to their accommodation in Resort Una Park.
Additional information
We can welcome you at Zagreb Airport, arrange transport to your accommodation, and return to the airport.
If required, we can also transport you from your accommodation to the start of the hiking trail and return you to accommodation.
